Overview
:

The Trauma Outreach Coordinator (TOC) works to promote optimal care of the trauma patient throughout the region and within the guidelines set forth by the state requirements for trauma, and the American College of Surgeons. This is accomplished through clinical, administrative, outreach and public education programs. The TOC provides regular on-site services to the trauma centers within the region which include injury prevention, Process Improvement activities, education, and site survey preparation to accomplish the goals of the regional strategic plan.

Pay opportunity is  Exempt - $25.57 - $40.84.


Responsibilities
:

The role requires continuous monitoring of regional patient care, data, staff and public education and system management for quality improvement consistent with state requirements. Works with Trauma Facilities and pre-hospital personnel in Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska. Regional activities involve maintaining optimal trauma care with the delivery of trauma patients to the Level II trauma center in a timely manner. Educating regional facilities regarding PI activities enhances facility awareness for increasing resources needed to promote education and prevention activities and the promotion of optimal trauma care. The ROTC position supports the strategic plan for trauma for the region. Efficient use of budget for travel in the region is essential.


Qualifications
:

Current Colorado RN, BSN required. TNCC-I, ENPC-I or PALS-I, ACLS required. Excellent IPR skills. PC and computer skills - Microsoft office, data entry, computer program access. Must be able to travel and drive and possess valid Colorado drivers license.
Preferred: background/experience in injury prevention, experience/knowledge of AIS, ISS, and ICD9 coding for trauma, trauma registry experience; Prefer Trauma coordinator experience  including site survey preparation. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with BHS values, management expectations, and service standards. ENPC and TNCC instructor status within 1 year of hire. Familiarity with EMS operations, SEMTAC/RETAC operations: facility liaison trauma coordination preferred.
